How to Make Extra Money Using Survey Sites (For Free!)

If you’ve used an online survey site to make some more money, you know it can sometimes be slow and frustrating. While taking surveys sounds like a good idea, if you don’t know how to use them then the benefits might not be worth the work. Here are some great tips to help you make extra money when using survey sites!

If you’re going to sign up for one survey site, you might as well sign up for multiple! Not only will you have access to a ton of different types of surveys, but most sites give you some sort of incentive just for signing up. That means you’ll get even more benefits right away!

When looking for sites to sign up for, make sure their rewards system works for you. Some sites, for example, only do gift cards or discounts on certain websites. If you’re okay with that, then sign up. However, if you only want cash rewards, then do your research before signing up for all of them.

When possible, try to find websites that have a tiered reward system. This pretty much means the more surveys you take, the more points you get for each survey. It’s really nice because you have a double incentive to take surveys!

You’ll also want to make sure you’re taking surveys frequently. There’s no point in signing up for a ton of survey sites if you only take one survey every other week. To get the most bang for your buck, you want to get into a habit of taking surveys daily.

Before you sign up, make sure you have a coupon or promo code that gives you points and/or rewards just for signing up. Nearly every survey site has these codes. If you don’t have one, look online or get in contact with someone who uses the site since they’ll probably have a code that gives you both points.

On that same note, when you sign up for a survey site, share your own promo code with others! When people use your code to sign up, you and that person will get rewarded! It’s a super easy way to make money.

Most survey sites offer more ways to earn money and points than just their surveys. For example, you can play games, do online shopping, or just search the web through some of these sites and you get points for it! It’s pretty much getting paid to do what you’d already be doing.

How I Make $100k+ Online While Working From Home

There are tons of ways to make money nowadays. You can have a traditional job (nothing wrong with that), work from home, and/or work purely online. If you don’t limit what kind of work you do (and where you do it), then you can grow your income to over $100k! Here are just a few ways to do that.

Some people don’t like this, but don’t be afraid to take on side jobs. Lots of jobs that I started on the side grew into full-time jobs that vastly increased my income. You can take on one side job (if it pays well or gives you a big workload), or you can take on numerous “lighter” side jobs. At first, this may just supplement your day job, but it can easily grow from there.

Online work is becoming more and more acceptable and preferred in today’s digital world. You can do anything from managing large accounts to tutoring online! The great thing about this kind of work is that it’s diverse and almost always allows you to fit it to your schedule so you don’t have to worry about cramming everything in at a certain time.

If you don’t like online work but still want to work from home, you can try starting your own out-of-home business. This could be anything from making and selling products to converting your downstairs into a spa and massage (I recommend you be a professional in either of these fields). Be creative and do something you love.

If you have online content and websites (or even a big backyard near a busy road), take on advertisers! They’ll love the space and views you’ll give them, and it’s a super easy way to make some passive income. You don’t have to do anything but reach out to advertisers to make this kind of money.

A subtype of online advertising that I think is important enough for its own page is affiliate advertising. This is when a company will pay you to write a review/talk about their product on your blog or websites. The bigger your following, the more you get paid for this (plus you can make commission for every viewer that buys the product). If you haven’t tried this already, reach out to some companies and make them an offer.

I mentioned this earlier, but passive income is one of my favorite ways to make money. Why? Because once the money flow is set up, you don’t have to do ANYTHING! This can come from things like advertisers, but it’s really common through books or something that gives you commission or royalty.

You can also try your hand at product reviews (again, if you have a lot of followers). This is different from affiliate advertising because you’re outright reviewing the product (affiliate advertising only requires that you mention the product in your posts). You get paid for doing the review and (often) for any commission from viewers who buy the product.

I think the most important thing to remember if you want to earn $100K or more is to learn new things and work hard! Technology is changing so quickly, so if you want to make money in the online game, then you need to embrace new strategies and devices. And, the harder you work, the more successful you’re going to be!

8 Survey Sites You Can Use to Make Extra Money

Making a little extra money is nice, but sometimes it’s hard to find a legitimate source that pays well. If you want to work from home on your own schedule, then try some of these survey sites. They each work a bit differently, so find one (or more than one) that you like, and get signed up!

Swagbucks

This is the survey site that I’ve heard the most about. I’m not saying it’s the best, just the most widely dispersed. A cool thing about Swagbucks is that it offers more than just surveys; you can get points for just surfing the web!

Pro Opinion

This is a relatively new company, so they’re looking for as many new users as possible. They want you to take surveys based on your professional expertise and opinion (hence the name), so keep that in mind. Also, this site doesn’t pay in cash, it does gift cards, but usually that’s not a big issue.

American Consumer Opinion

This is your classic survey website. It pays you for each survey you take, and the surveys have a wide range of topics. If you’re looking for something simple and straight forward, then this is your site!

VIP Voice

My favorite thing about this website is that it has a tiered system in place. That means that the more surveys you take, the more points you earn for each one. You can also use your points to enter website specific sweepstakes, which can give you big rewards!

Nielsen Digital Voice

This website has lots of different functions, so you can do more than just take surveys in order to make money. Through this site, you can even just browse the web to make money!

Pinecone Research

Lot of people say that they really like this website; it’s user-friendly, pays well, and isn’t too pushy with their information. Every now and then, the website also sends you free products to do reviews on, which is always nice!

Inbox Dollars

The name of this survey site pretty much explains what it’s all about. J Other than websites, you can also play games, do online shopping, and search the web in order to earn points and money! It can’t get much better than that!

Harris Poll Online

This website has a feature that I really like that the other ones don’t have. You get points for all the surveys you take, but if the site recommends a survey for you but you don’t qualify for it, then you can still get points for the untaken survey! That’s like free money.

If surveys aren’t your thing, here are other great ways to make money from home:

7 Easy Ways to Make Money Blogging

Years ago, I would hear that people were blogging for a “living” and I always wondered HOW are they making money?  How does blogging give them a substantial enough income that they can live on it?

Blogging has changed my life.  It has paid off our student loans, paid off cars, credit cards and we even bought a new camping trailer, yay!  It has also sustained our family through a career transition for my husband.  So, if you are like I once was, and are wondering how you can make money blogging, this is the right place for you.  There are a lot of revenue streams, but I have outlined the most popular sources of income for bloggers.

If you are interested in starting a blog, you can find step by step instructions on how to start a blog for really cheap!  You can start a money-making blog for as little as a few dollars a month through my special Bluehost link discount, so hurry and take advantage of this opportunity before it expires!  In order to make money blogging, you want to have a self-hosted blog, which means buying a hosting package.  You will even receive a free domain if you sign up for hosting with this new deal.  In order to maximize the money you can make, you need to be self-hosted.  So, if you are interested and want to start a blog, I can walk you through it.

  1. Ad networks like Google Adsense and others are a great place to start.  They are easy to use, have great analytics and reporting and will be a perfect first step in making money blogging. To get started, apply for an account (that is after you have started your blog.  You need to have a domain name and hosting, which you can get here for a very special discount for my readers.)  Once you have been approved by Google Adsense, you create ad blocks.  You choose the size, color, font, etc. and then you literally copy and paste the ad code into your website.  There are plugins (I like ad inserter) that make it especially easy.  You can choose where to place your ad block (in your post, on the sidebar, at the bottom, in the header, etc.) Take some time and look through different programs to find the one that fits you best. AdSense is common, but you may find one you like more. The way Adsense works, is that advertisers go to Google and sign up with Google Adwords.  They then place the ad on your site, and when someone clicks on an ad, you get a portion of that click.  It is called PPC (pay-per-click) advertising.  Google gets a cut and you get a cut.  And it is a win-win.
  1. If you want a bigger portion of the profit and are willing to put some extra leg work in, then you could consider direct advertising. There are a few ways to go about this, but you’ll need to have a pretty good base of followers and traffic before you start searching for direct advertisers.  This version of advertising is a little bit more work, because you have to find the advertisers yourself, but you then get 100% of the agreed upon rate for your advertising.  Some bloggers choose to have a set monthly rate for certain sizes of advertisements, while others track performance and charge based on clicks, customers, etc.  Find companies that don’t directly compete with your brand, but are very complimentary to your blog niche and reader base.
  1. You could also work with affiliates on your site to get some extra money out of your blog. Affiliate programs are pretty simple and used by quite a few bloggers. Pretty much, you endorse or write articles about why you like a certain product in hopes that your readers will go out and buy that product. The more followers that use your link to buy the product, the more money you get from the company. While this is a good way to make money, there are a few guidelines I would suggest if you do this. First, don’t endorse all sorts of products just so you can make lots of money; endorse quality products you actually like and use. If you don’t, your viewers will know and you run the risk of losing your audience. Secondly, be open and honest that you’re an affiliate for a certain product. Make sure your reader knows that and don’t force the product down their throat—that will get obnoxious quickly and, again, your audience could diminish. If you like the product and really do want others to know about it, then you should feel excited and confident to begin the affiliate program!
  1. Some companies will actually pay you to just do a product review; you don’t even have to be part of an affiliate program. This is really similar to affiliate marketing, but instead of promoting and endorsing the product on your blog, you simply write a review about it. Tell your audience what you liked about it, what you didn’t like so much, and why you prefer that product over other similar brands. Again, make sure to be honest and straight-forward with your readers. You don’t want them investing in your word and then getting upset when the product isn’t as good as you said. Don’t sacrifice immediate cash for long-term followers and trust.
  1. Actually, you actually don’t even have to have your own blog to make money off blogging. Sound crazy? Well, it’s not. If you love writing, but all the other marketing aspects of a profitable blog don’t interest you, you can be a freelance writer. You can send your material to blogs you think would be interested in publishing your content. It may take a while to build up a reputation as a freelance writer, but once you have it then you can get a pretty solid income from it.
  1. Ghostwriting is a little different; instead of having your name posted to all the articles that you submit to blogs and get published, your name won’t be seen (hence the “ghost” part of ghost writing). Pretty much, you can be employed by a blogger to write content for them and they just assume it as their own. You can actually make this a part-time (or even full-time) job, especially if you work for numerous different bloggers. It can kind of be hard to get into this business at first (unless you personally know a professional blogger), but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it! If you’re a really good ghostwriter, you can make up to $50 per article you’re assigned, and some articles take less than an hour to write. That’s a good deal!
  1. If you’re a successful blogger, why not become a successful author too! You can actually repurpose your old blogs and sell them as books (or, more likely, e-books). Of course, you’ll need to reformat your blogs to fit into a professional looking book, but if you have content that people want quick and constant access to, you can make some good money off this. Some really successful bloggers have made over $70,000 in a week from e-book sales, so it obviously works. If you’re having problems selling your blog content, then you can made a related e-book to your blog and then advertise it on your blog! It’s similar content that your followers love and you have a platform that gives free advertising. The perfect combination!

35 Things You Do if You Want to Save Money

No one is ever going to say no to saving and having more money. And, believe it or not, you don’t have to stop having fun or doing things you like in order to store up some extra cash. There are small but effective ways that you can save money, and here are just a few of them!

35 Things You Do if You Want to Save Money

Budget

If you haven’t already, make a budget for you and your family. Budgets help you know how much you are making and how much, in general, you should be spending in every area of your financial life.

More Energy Efficient House

This may cost some money in the beginning, but it will save you money in the long run. Invest in energy saving appliances like a dryer, washer, or fridge that will cut your utility bills in half!

Price Check Your Rates

Spend some time looking for new insurance when it’s up for renewal. We often stick with bad rates and high costs because we’re familiar with the company and our policy. However, doing just a little bit of research can save you hundreds of dollars throughout the year.

Plan Meals

Take a few extra minutes every week and plan out what you will be eating. This will stop you from buying things on the go and prevent food from going bad that you never eat.

Plan Holidays and Vacations

It may sound silly, but planning vacations and holidays around free events and good deals is a great way to save money and still have fun! You’d be surprised at how many great deals are around tourist areas if you just put in the time and effort to find them.

35 Things You Do if You Want to Save Money2

Don’t Waste Food

Whether there’s a lot of people living in your home or it’s just you, evaluate how much food you’re buying and wasting and then adjust accordingly. If you find that you throw away 50% of your fruit before you eat them, then buy less fruit! It’s that simple!

Sell Old Electronics and Unused Items

We all have that closet that’s got boxes of unused items stashed away, or that drawer that houses our old and abandoned electronics. Take some time to clean them out and sell anything that you think other people would want to buy.

Use Household Products

You don’t need to go out and buy expensive, store bought, chemical cleaners. Instead, just use items you already have around the house. For example, you can clean a lot of surfaces with baking soda and/or lemon juice. Find some ideas online and save some money!

Do Your Research

Before you make any big purchase, do your research. Read online reviews, compare prices and quality, find different vendors, etc. This may take some time, but it will save you in the end, plus you won’t be frustrated with buying a bad product since you’ll know it’s good quality!

Wait if Needed

Try implementing the 30-day rule. Pretty much, if you want to buy something on an impulse, wait 30 days. If you still want/need that thing after 30 days, then you can consider buying it. This will whittle away at those things that you actually don’t need or want in your life.

Solar Panels

It may sound a little extreme, but if you have a bit of extra cash, install solar panels on your home. In only about five years, you’ll start making money off your investment. Not only that, but if there is ever a power outage, you can program your solar panels to power your fridge, freezer, or other essential items that need electricity.

Credit Card Rewards

Lots of people will tell you to shy away from credit cards if you want to save money, but that’s not always the case. If you’re smart, you can actually make money off of using your credit card because of all the perks and rewards they offer. Find a credit card that has deals you like and go for it!

Spend Less than you Make

However, make sure to live within your budget still. A good rule of thumb is to not buy anything that you won’t be able to pay off within the month. That way, you won’t have any interest building up against you, but you’ll still get all the perks and rewards!

Avoid Gambling

Some people win big from gambling, but most people just lose money. I would suggest not trying to press your luck and win the lottery. Instead, take that money you want to spend on a scratch ticket and invest it in stock or put it towards your savings.

Learn Basic Home Repair

By teaching yourself how to fix a leaky pipe, change a tire, or unclog the shower, you can save hundreds of dollars every year. Hiring someone to do maintenance is a costly expense, and most of the basic fixes they do you can do yourself!

Yard Sale

Round up all the stuff you don’t need or use anymore and have a yard sale! Not only will this get you money, but it will also help you remember what stuff you and your family doesn’t use. For example, if you’re selling your treadmill that’s never been touched, don’t go out and buy a new one in a few months!

DIY Projects

DIY projects are both fun and cheap! You don’t have to spend nearly as much money as you would on an already-made product, plus you get to put your own style and touch on the craft!

Entertain Children Cheaply

There’s really no point in spending hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars to buy your kids the best toys or go on the craziest vacations. Kids can be entertained by a box, so reign in your elaborate presents for them and they probably won’t even notice!

Avoid Fast Food

I know it seems convenient (and sometimes tasty), but fast food is NOT a good way to save money. Plus, it’s not really ever good for you. So, do your wallet and your waist a favor and stop getting fast food.

Stop Smoking

If you smoke, then quit right now! The habit isn’t just dangerous for your health, it’s also bad for your cash flow. Seek help and medicine if required, and you’ll see an increase in money, for sure, even if the cost up front is more than a pack of cigarettes.

Replace Your Car Air Filter

By replacing your car filter, you can increase your gas mileage up to 7%! That’s pretty crazy, if you think about it in the longrun. And changing your filter is super easy and doesn’t take much time a tall.

Limit Subscriptions

While it might be nice to get your favorite magazines in the mail or those subscription boxes that you love, but are they really worth it? If you want to, you can keep one or two subscriptions, but try to get rid of the rest. Over time, they eat up a lot of your money.

Buy Used When Possible

Most items work just as well, even if they’re used. Cars are a huge thing that you’ll want to buy used, since it doesn’t really make sense to buy a new car. You can also buy used clothes, books, toys, etc.

Buy Generic

Believe it or not, name brand and generic items are almost equal in quality (if not actually equal). When you pay all that extra cash for name brand, you’re just buying the label, not better quality.

10-Second Rule

Whenever you go shopping, try to follow the 10-second rule. Every time you pick up an item or product that you don’t need, ask yourself, “why am I buying this?” If you can’t come up with a good reason within ten seconds, then don’t buy the item.

35 Things You Do if You Want to Save Money6

Creative Gift Giving

Instead of spending a fortune on presents and gifts, trying giving creative gifts this year. You could do homemade objects (like soaps, crafts, lotions, candles, etc.) or even give the gift of labor! You can offer babysitting to new parents or a free car tune-up, for example.

Rent Out Unused Space

No point in letting all that empty space in your home go to waste. If you have an extra room, or even a whole floor that’s not being used, considering renting it out or at least doing a program like Airbnb.

Visual Debt Reminder

Make a visual debt reminder that will help you see how much money you owe. That way, when you’re tempted to buy a new TV or something you don’t really need, you can look at the debt reminder and remember what’s really important!

Swap chores

You can also considering setting up a services swap with your friends of neighbors. Pretty much, you often to pay each other in services instead of money for things you need done. You can offer babysitting, yard work, house repairs, etc. It’s a great way to make friends and save some money.

Keep Leftovers

I’m so surprised at how many people just throw away their leftovers, even from restaurants! You can still be classy and get a doggy bag, I promise. Or, even at home, save the leftovers and use them for lunches. It’s cheap, tasty, and saves you money.

Public Transportation

Depending on where you live, this can be a great way to save tons of money while also not having to worry about things like car insurance and auto loan payments. You save money and are hassle free because you don’t have to park or worry about other car-related problems!

Carpool

If you really want to keep your car, then use it smarter. Carpooling is a great way to help the environment and you’re wallet! Find people at work that live nearby who you can start a carpool with so it’s cheaper for all of you.

Buy a Deep Freezer

This is an expense at first, but it allows you to stockpile in bulk, which saves you money in the end. Just make sure you log what’s in the deep freezer and how long it’s been in there so you don’t have chicken nuggets that are six years old. Yuck!

Cheaper Place to Live

Some cities or parts of cities are just ridiculously expensive and not even worth it. If that sounds familiar, then consider moving. I know it can be a lot of work, but if you can pay less in rent/mortgage or get more bang for your buck, then it’s definitely a smart investment.

Community Calendar

Most cities and towns have a community calendar that list all of the free activities that they’ll be throwing that year or at least within the next few months. Check it out and find some activities that you and your family can enjoy together…for free!
